Delete Your Account
Last updated: October 13, 2026 — Lilu app, developer: Ilya Litau
This page is about the Lilu app for iPhone and Android, developed by Ilya Litau. Lilu works without an account; an account exists only if you signed in with Google or Apple. Here is how to delete that account and which data goes with it.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open Lilu and sign in if you are not signed in (the Delete Account button only appears when you are).
- Open Profile (the tab at the bottom).
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account (the red button).
- Read the warning and tap Delete Account to confirm.
Deletion happens right away and cannot be undone. If your session has expired, the app asks you to sign in again first.
Without the app (by email)
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, ask me to delete the account by email:
Write from the email address of your Google or Apple account (or name it in the message) with the subject “Delete my account”. I may reply to confirm it is you. I delete the account within 30 days of confirmation, usually within a few days.
[email protected]What is deleted
When you confirm in the app, this is deleted immediately and permanently:
- Your Lilu account itself — email address, name and user ID (it is deleted, not just deactivated).
- The cloud copy of your saved words and learning progress (streaks, achievements) stored in your account.
- The link between your account and your access code, and the stored Apple sign-in token. If you signed in with Apple, I also ask Apple to revoke Lilu’s access to your Apple ID.
- The list of clips the app has shown you (clip history), stored on my server under an anonymous ID.
If you never signed in, there is no account to delete, but the clip history still exists on my server. Email [email protected] and attach the Order ID from your Apple receipt for Lilu (on Android, the Google Play order number); I will find and delete your clip history. I keep it while you use the app and delete it on request or together with your account.
What is not deleted
- Data on your phone (saved words, achievements). Remove it by deleting the app or with Settings → “Reset local learning data”.
- Your purchases at Apple or Google. They stay with your Apple ID or Google account. Deleting your Lilu account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the App Store or in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions.
- Your access code. It is not cancelled: it becomes unlinked, stays valid, and you can link it to a new account later. If you bought early access on lilu.litau.app, Paddle (the seller) keeps its record of the order.
- The purchase record at RevenueCat, kept under an anonymous app user ID. Deleting the account does not remove it automatically; write to me if you want it deleted too and I will request it from RevenueCat.
- Anonymous analytics (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry). They are tied to a random install ID, not to your name, email or account, so deleting the account does not remove them. Session recordings are deleted automatically after up to 30 days; the other records follow those tools’ own retention periods. Write to me if you want a specific record removed.
- Feedback you sent through the app. It is not tied to your account, so it is not removed with it; write to me if you want it deleted.
